Since Abraham first set foot in the Promised Land, many have tried to answer the question: what does it mean for a Jew to come to Israel? At ISI, we believe that for each and every visitor to Israel, whether first timer or veteran, the encounter with Israel should be a multifaceted growth experience:
- An enrichment of our connection with our Jewish heritage - with the Bible stories we have heard (and maybe not appreciated enough), with the festivals we celebrate, with the rituals we perform, with our nation's heroes, and with our Jewish visions for a more perfect world: Ki Mitzion Tetze Torah.
- A link with the people of modern Israel - getting to know their hopes, dreams, and challenges; seeing the ingathering of the Jewish People from every corner of the world; and making a personal connection of friendship and belonging: Kol Yisrael Chaverim .
- A foundation for a lifelong relationship of partnership and responsibility - learning how to help Israel in its struggle for survival and security, developing a commitment to improve the quality of life of Jews wherever they are in need, and looking forward to future experiences in Israel as stepping stones throughout life: Kol Yisrael Areivim Zeh BaZeh.
Every ISI Israel program blends a wide range of experiences that touch on many facets of the country and enrich the special relationship that every visitor - young and old - has with the land and its people.
